Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

So, it finally snowed! Yay! I love the snow as long as you don't have to drive in it. Here are the boys getting ready for their big "adventure" (as Noah calls it). We don't have to go far to go sledding. If you look behind the boys there is a gap between houses (right above Zay's head). Anyway, there is a lane there that never gets plowed and no one uses in the snow because it is impossible to get up. So, we use it as a toboggan run. You get going so good that you can go down the lane and down our street (we live halfway up a hill). Noah was going so good yesterday he went down the lane and 6 houses down the street. It was impressive. But here they are. And for those of you who are curious I didn't buy them matching snowsuits...the only one in Zay's size happened to be orange and blue and Noah's was bought last year!

Here are Elliot (in the lead) and Greg heading up the lane with the kids. It was pretty slippery, Greg even fell once climbing up....you better believe I laughed!

Here are Zay and Greg on their way past me at the bottom of the Lane. Zay wasn't too sure about tobogganing because it was windy and the snow was blowing in his face. He did go down 5 or 6 times though so it couldn't be all that bad.

Here is Fry (Noah) climbing up the lane with his sled. We thought he would get tired but he didn't and we had to bribe him with hot chocolate so he would come in....3 1/2 hours later!

So, Zay wasn't much into the tobogganing but he had prime seats to watch all the action. I think he liked the snow though because when it was time to go inside he refused and cried. But it was time...I was cold!

So it's been awhile...okay, a whole year, since we have taken a family picture. Our neighbour and friend Anne is very good at taking pictures so she took some of the family the other day. Here are some of our favorites.

Letter to Santa

So, Noah wanted to write a letter to Santa Claus this year. In his Christmas colouring book there was a page dedicated to just that. Anyway, I was in the basement and he came downstairs with the book and announced "Mommy I wrote Dear Santa in my book, can you show me how to spell Operation?" So, not only had he read that it said "Dear Santa", he had already copied it out and wanted more to write. I mean, I always knew he was smart but reading and writing already! Wow! Well, I wrote out what he wanted to say and he copied it. I was so proud I photocopied it before we mailed the original off to the North Pole. Here it is below. He didn't quite get the "leave spaces between words lesson" and his "g" is backwards but I think it's pretty awesome for a four year old. It reads:

Dear Santa
I want the Operation Game for Christmas
Love Noah

This is really all he wants for Christmas. I know it's shocking but if you ask him what else he wants he says nothing. What a great kid! Makes shopping easy.

Christmas Craftin'

Well, Grandma may have 2 Christmas Trees up and decorated in her house but Julle, Noah, Isaiah and I have been craftin' and here are some of our treasures!

Here is a close-up of Noah's snowman.....I glued everything on but he picked it out and helped cut and style....anyway, only 45 more days to go so get busy everyone!

Thomas The Train At GM Place

So, the Reid family and our family spent Sunday at Thomas The Train Saves The Day at GM Place. The kids were pretty excited and enjoyed the show. Isaiah couldn't wait to see Percy and was mesmerized by the whole show while Malcolm loved seeing Deisel 10. I don't think Isaiah has ever sat as still as he did to watch that show. To get there our family parked at Great Grandpa Pops and took the Sky-Train in. That was a hit with both my boys who have seen it but never been on it. They really enjoyed the ride in but the ride home (crammed in with several hundred others) wasn't as fun. I would have taken a picture but was afraid if I did I'd get mugged! Yikes! Anyway, here are some pictures from Thomas.

Here is Sir Topamhat (the railroad conductor) and Deisel 10. Noah liked Sir Topamhat but kept telling me that he didn't sound like the Topamhat on his Leapster does. How do you explain that?

Finally here is a shot of Percy and the grumpy railcar he pulled. All around it was a great day, thanks Reid's for sharing it with us. And, thanks Dad's (Greg and Dobby) for missing Sunday Football! Ha!

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year we had an Elmo......it worked out perfect since one of Zay's current obsessions is Elmo (the other being Veggietales). I think he enjoyed trick-or-treating more than Noah. There were so many comments on his costume and from the picture you can see why!

Spiderman also showed up to do some trick-or-treating....and flexing for us. What a tough guy!

Finally a shot of the boys with all their pumpkins......the ones they selected from the Pumpkin Patch and the one Grandpa from Summerland grew for them. Thanks Grandpa!

Pumpkin' Patchin'

Greg and I ventured out to the pumpkin patch this year since it has become a tradition. Even though we already have a gigantic pumpkin sitting on our front porch already (thanks Grandpa from Summerland) we still really enjoy taking the kids to pick out pumpkins of their own. This year the rule for pumpkin selection was if you can't carry it then you can't have it. This made for an entertaining pumpkin selection process in the patch. Here are the boys with their final selections. As you can see they are both carrying their own pumpkins...rules are rules you know! (We helped them carry their pumpkins don't worry!)

Here is what Grandpa from Summerland needs to shoot for next year....this HUGE pumpkin! Good luck Grandpa....got any steroids?

Zay really liked this pumpkin. Especially since he fell off it! Alas it was too big and he couldn't carry it. But enjoyed sitting on it anyways.

Noah really wanted this one.....he liked that he looked monstrous standing on it.....too bad he could not carry it so it was left there....he was sad...the pumpkin that is!

Finally, what's a trip to the pumpkin patch without having them stick their heads through some wood cut-out. There were many to choose from but we thought our little pumpkins should be.... well little pumpkins.

The Games Of The 4th Olympiad

Noah decided he wanted to have a "sports" themed party....we expanded on it and and made it an Olympics themed party. The kids seemed to have fun. We had events which included the discus (aka Frisbee throw into a hula-hoop), the 100 meter dash, the triathalon (aka crawl through a tunnel, run backwards, and then run forwards), and a ball on spoon race (not sure what that should be called). Here are some pictures from the Games.....they ended up backwards for some reason. Oh well.
So, here is a picture of Noah's cake made by Auntie Cindi....I'm not sure if you can see it but she made a podium with three guys made out of icing on it....plus olympic ring cupcakes and medal cupcakes (gold, silver, and bronze). Thanks Auntie Cindi....as always it was amazing!

After the Games were over we had medal ceremonies with gold medals given to all the participants. Here is a group shot of all the kids with their medals (except Isaiah who tried to eat his and wasn't a fan of having it on his neck).

This is a shot from the 100 meter dash.....Noah's pretty quick. I guess that's what happens when you turn 4...you get faster!

Isaiah and some of the younger Olympians preferred the triathalon....mostly just climbing through the tunnel. So much that they just kept budging and climbing through the tunnel.

Finally a shot of Noah and the "Ball on Spoon" race. It was a great Olympics and thanks everyone for participating. It was amazing to see the difference between Noah's 3rd Birthday and 4th Birthday....last year he wouldn't venture downstairs till after the party had started and this year he was right in there. My baby is growing up!

Noah Is 4!

So, our little guy isn't so little anymore. Noah turned 4 yesterday! Hooray! We had a big Olympic party (pictures to come) for him and all his friends.

Here is Noah first thing in the morning opening up his present from Greg and I.

Here he is with his "Special" Birthday cereal....Lucky Charms. He's always wanted to try them so I got a box for his birthday. As you can tell, the sugary cereal didn't affect him at all! HA!
Here he is playing with his new Leapster (the present we got him). It was a great day full of friends, presents, and food! We are so thankful for Noah and all the joy he brings to our family. We love him so much. Happy 4th Birthday Noni Bear!

September Fun....almost done!

September has been a crazy month so far. It began with our baby starting school............well pre-school. Here he is all ready for his first day of class at Jump Smart. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. The first day I stayed for about 20 minutes before he gave me the signal I could leave (a peace out). Now I just drop him off and go. What a big boy! Sniff Sniff!

The weather here has been awesome too. So, one day when we were out all afternoon Noah decided we should have a picnic lunch. We picked up MacDonalds on the way home and sat on our back deck enjoying the sunshine. As usual Isaiah hams it up for the camera.


Noah and Isaiah got some new jammies and slippers (Lightning McQueen for Isaiah and Tow-Mater for Noah) this weekend and decided they should model them for Daddy. I think they must take after Greg because it is impossible to get a picture of them simply smiling, they always have to make goofy faces. Thanks Greg!

Isaiah's new trick of the month is drinking milk out of cereal bowls....sometimes the cereal is gone, sometimes it isn't. Whatever the case he looks pretty cute doing it.

Last but not least is a picture of Isaiah dressed in his soccer duds from head to toe! He has started dribbling the soccer ball around the house. Unfortunately Noah still takes it away from him but he's getting tougher. Noah is in trouble in a couple of years I'm afraid.

Well, that's about it for now. Noah's birthday is coming up so we'll have to get ready for that. He has decided that he wants to have an "Olympics" themed birthday party. Should be fun! So from all of us in the Falk household (especially Noah) "Peace Out"!

Triple Trouble

PNE

So, we went to the PNE this year. It was the first time the boys had gone and the first time in a long time Greg and I had been. We did lots of fun stuff which included watching the Peking Acrobats, the Superdogs, the Toon Town Parade, visiting the animals, and playing some carnival games. We had a great time!

Noah with his big prize...a stuffy elephant. We tried to get him to pick the dog or frog but he really wanted the elephant. Anyways, this was the car ride home....both boys passed out in the back seat. It was worth it though, we had a great day.

White Rock Fun

Yesterday we went and spent the afternoon in White Rock with our friends Elliot and Julle. Here are some photos from the afternoon.
